2013 MS City to Shore Ride

Posted by on October 30, 2013
On September 28-29 with the help of my sponsors I rode the MS Philadelphia City to Shore bike ride. My sponsors allowed me to raise over $480 as part of the Comcast Team. The Comcast team had 120 riders who as a team raised over $60,500! The ride was a massive event and I think it had over 5,000 riders. The route this year was 80 miles instead of 75 due to a detour.

I rode with several of my friends George, Arthur, Achim, Bob and the team leader Marc! George and I stayed together both days and rode with some interesting pace lines – at times we reached speeds of over 25mph. George was up for staying with the pace lines for the entire ride but a bad hamstring for me slowed us down. Overall this was a great ride for a good cause and we had a great time doing it. The details per my Garmin 800 for me are: Day 1 – 81.08 miles, 4:08 moving time, 19.6mph average moving speed. Day 2 – 81.02 miles, 4:10 moving time, 19.4mph average moving speed.
